Sydney adventure with Hanna Marie

An early morning roadtrip to the heart of Sydney,
to shoot for 'Oh Buttons' with an amazing team.

A busy day

3am was an early start to the day, but it was well worth it to be a part of this project. I made my way to Sydney to meet with Skye and Danny from Oh Buttons, as well as Hanna, our model, and Jo, our Makeup artist. Working with such amazingly talented, passionate and creative teams is one thing that I absolutely love about my job. It is always a great honour and privilege, and people like these continuously inspire me to push my skills further. It has been exciting to follow the 'Oh Button's' journey since the beginning, and to see them continue to push forward to bigger things.


On the day we definitely made the most of our time. I took several lenses with me but decided to shoot with a 100mm 2.8 macro lens, as this meant I could quickly shift between portraits and detail shots without the need to switch lenses. Skye was always ready the entire time, with new earrings to go as soon as we needed them. Jo was on hand to make adjustments to the makeup, as well as a total change part way through the shoot to give us more variety in the look. By shooting with one earring on each ear we were able to get through many pairs.


Hanna personally brought so much to the shoot with natural talent and an ability to pose and model the jewelery. She continuously gave us new looks to work with, and was highly versatile and able to adapt quickly. It was amazing how much she could alter the dynamics seemingly effortlessly. Danny was able to film at the same time I shot, and has put together a clip from the day which can be seen below.
